GP – Kelmscott, Perth, Western Australia
Job Summary
This is a compelling opportunity to join a practice that has served the same community for over 60 years – and is now one of the busiest and best-equipped clinics in Perth’s fastest-growing corridor. Full-time earnings of AUD $500,000 to $850,000 (approximately £265,000 to £450,000) are within reach, supported by the highest nurse-to-GP ratio of any local practice, a DPA location, and complete autonomy over how and how much you work.
The Practice
- Established in 1966 and continuously accredited since 2001 – a mixed-billing practice with 12 consulting rooms, 3 treatment rooms and a resuscitation room, built to handle genuine procedural volume.
- The largest nursing team of any practice in the area – eight nurses in total, six dedicated to chronic disease management and care plans, freeing GPs to focus entirely on clinical work and higher-value MBS item numbers.
- Complete autonomy over appointment length, patient volume and working hours – the practice philosophy is non-interference, with no targets, no pressure and no imposed schedules.
- Strong procedural scope: full skin excision capability, colposcopies, iron infusions, venesections, travel medicine and obstetrics – with on-site podiatry, dietitian and pathology integrated into the team.
- DPA designation – meaning sponsored overseas doctors can begin practising immediately without the standard 10-year moratorium delay, and the practice is fully set up to manage the sponsorship process.
Benefits
- 65% fee split on all billings, supported by a nursing infrastructure that drives higher-value item numbers and chronic disease billing from day one.
- Earnings of AUD $500,000-$850,000 (approx. £265,000-£450,000) depending on hours and patient volume – self-determined and directly proportional to how you choose to work.
- Minimum hourly guarantee for the first 12 weeks – income security while your patient base builds, without the anxiety of a cold start.
- Visa sponsorship in place following recent government policy changes – the practice actively advises early contracting to lock in sponsorship terms before any policy reversal.
- Couple sponsorship arrangements considered – the clinic can structure schedules and contracts to support a partner working part-time alongside a sponsored GP.
- After-hours income opportunity via a dedicated out-of-hours phone line and home visits – patient demand already exists and is limited only by GP availability.
- Saturday private billing – all Saturday consults are privately billed, providing a reliable higher-rate income stream for GPs who choose to work weekends.
- Full onboarding managed in-house – contracts, immigration logistics and supervision requirements handled directly by practice leadership, not outsourced.
Location Overview
Kelmscott sits at the base of the Darling Scarp alongside the Canning River, 30 minutes south-east of Perth CBD by car or 40 minutes on the direct Armadale rail line. Kelmscott sits within the fastest-growing local government area in Western Australia, with new residential estates, improving amenities and a young, expanding community – a place that is still becoming, rather than already peaked.
