Background

This inner London practice has built something genuinely rare: a human-first approach to patient access, with no forced AI triage and patients keeping the choice of a face-to-face or telephone appointment. Same or next working day routine appointments mean there is no backlog to inherit, and with no forced duty or triage day, every session is fully clinical. This is a practice built for GPs who want to practise medicine, not manage a system around it.

Location

The practice is based in Homerton, in the London Borough of Hackney, an inner-city North East London neighbourhood with excellent transport links into central London. Stratford is around 10 minutes away, Liverpool Street and the City around 20 minutes by train, and Islington and Walthamstow are both easily commutable. The area has a lively, changing community, with independent cafes and local businesses sitting alongside a long-established population.

The Practice

• Established GP training practice, hosting an F2 doctor and an ST trainee, with a genuine route to developing as a trainer over time
• Full in-house pharmacy support, with two full-time clinical pharmacists taking real workload off GPs
• Close-knit, low-drama, open door culture, with the whole team, including reception and admin, meeting together weekly
• Mid-sized practice on a single site, using EMIS Web
• Rated Good by the CQC

Your Role

• Two Salaried GP posts available, four sessions each, up to eight sessions in total, with other combinations considered for the right candidate
• Thursday required for both posts, for the weekly whole-practice meeting
• Open to a newly qualified GP for one post, with the second suited to a more experienced GP
• Pooled patient list, with continuity of care encouraged
• A genuine, supported route towards developing as a trainer, though equity partnership is not guaranteed
• An interest in women’s health would be particularly welcomed

Salary and Benefits

• Sessional rate of £11,000 to £11,500 per session
• Six weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays
• NHS Pension, with automatic enrolment
• Sick pay and maternity and paternity leave in line with the BMA model contract

You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK performers list.
