We’re proud to be working with a large, highly regarded veterinary hospital that is looking to strengthen its dedicated night team with an experienced Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon. This is a superb opportunity to join a forward-thinking, high-standard practice with excellent facilities, a collaborative culture and one of the most comprehensive clinical teams in the region.
The practice is seeking a confident vet who enjoys emergency and critical care work and thrives in a well-supported hospital environment. With strong nursing support, excellent equipment and access to certificate holders across multiple disciplines, this role offers the chance to work up complex cases to a high standard.
The Role
7 nights on / 14 nights off rota
Average 27 hours per week contract
Dedicated OOH and ECC caseload
30-minute emergency consultations as standard
Emergency surgeries performed overnight as required
Focused ECC work while the day team manages routine and chronic care

The role would particularly suit vets with an interest in ECC, emergency surgery or internal medicine, and candidates must be comfortable managing emergency cases independently.
The Practice
This is a large, purpose-built veterinary hospital with an exceptional reputation for clinical standards, mentorship and professional development. The practice employs around 15 veterinary surgeons and more than 20 nurses, creating a highly collaborative environment with excellent support at all levels.
The leadership team is deeply invested in staff wellbeing, clinical excellence and professional growth, creating a supportive culture where vets are encouraged to develop their interests and contribute to clinical discussions.
The hospital also acts as a teaching and development centre, hosting veterinary students and supporting graduate programmes, and regularly pilots’ new technology and innovations within the wider veterinary group.
