Job Summary

This is a rare opportunity to join a doctor-owned clinic built on a UK general practice model, led by an owner with around 20 years in UK general practice who has made the move to Canada himself. Full-time earnings are estimated at CAD $600,000-$700,000 (approx. £325,000-£380,000), with LMIAs already approved and patients ready from day one.

The Practice

• Doctor-owned and run on a UK general practice model, with no pharmacy or non-clinical ownership and GPs working as independent physicians.
• An interim clinic is already running, so you can start seeing patients straight away while the new building is completed over winter 2026/27.
• A supportive team where doctors cover each other’s patients, with nurses and a dedicated EMR specialist planned to take tasks off your desk.
• On-site specialists planned in internal medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology and psychiatry, plus an attached independent pharmacy.

Benefits

• Estimated full-time earnings of CAD $600,000-$700,000 (approx. £325,000-£380,000).
• 70/30 fee split as a starting point, negotiable for strong billers and those running special interest clinics.
• Choice of LFP or FFS – LFP pays for your time and suits longer consultations, while FFS has no daily patient cap.
• Extra income from WCB, private patients and private procedures, which sit outside LFP daily caps.
• Strong patient demand, with thousands of unattached patients locally and two nearby GPs retiring within the year.
• Hours set entirely by you, with consultation length your call – typically 15 to 30 minutes under LFP.
• Special interest clinics in dermatology, aesthetics, addiction medicine and pain management, fed by in-house GP referrals.
• An AI-integrated EMR lets you chart, audit and message patients directly, cutting admin time.
• Two LMIAs already approved for incoming doctors.
• Relocation guidance from a UK-trained owner on housing, car finance and settling in.

Location Overview

Abbotsford is the largest city in the Fraser Valley, about an hour’s drive east of Vancouver, with its own domestic airport just outside the city centre. Outdoor life is right on the doorstep, from the 2km-plus loop around Mill Lake Park to hiking and mountain biking on Sumas Mountain, home of the steep Abby Grind trail, while the Discovery Trail links the city’s main parks for walking and cycling. Known as the Raspberry Capital of Canada, the area is ringed by berry farms, wineries and craft breweries, and every August it hosts Western Canada’s largest airshow. For families, the University of the Fraser Valley’s main campus means children can go from school to university without leaving the city.

Skills and Requirements

• MRCGP or equivalent qualification.
• College of Family Physicians of Canada eligibility.
• A commitment to continuity of care and team-based general practice.
• Special interests in dermatology, aesthetics, addiction or pain management are an advantage – developing interests welcome.
