Meet Andrew Dean

I’ve worked in healthcare recruitment since 2010, specialising in primary care recruitment from 2015, when I established Menlo Park with my business partner James. We’ve grown from just the two of us to a team of nearly 30 people during this time.

We have the biggest team in the UK, focusing solely on the recruitment of primary care professionals. Over the years, we’ve built a strong network and now have over 15,000 GPs within our community.

Understanding the industry

In addition to tracking changes from the amount of work we do within the sector, we regularly survey the attitudes and opinions of people within our network. It’s interesting to note the changes that have occurred during the 8-years we’ve been in business.

Whilst Menlo Park focused solely on permanent recruitment until recently, it was clear that we needed to shape our offering, to cater for the changes taking place within the market. As such, we launched a locum service during the early part of the new year.

What type of Locum GP roles are on offer?

At present, we’re mostly focusing on longer-term assignments, for example, maternity-cover, sabbaticals, sick-cover and any gaps whilst surgeries appoint permanent clinicians. Assignment length will typically range from 6-8 weeks to 12 months +.

I’m playing an active role in the set-up of the division, working with our clients in the south-west of the country. We’ve established close working relationships with some genuinely excellent practices over the years. As such, we’re handling roles that you aren’t going to be seeing on locum-booking platforms or job boards, they’re exclusive to Menlo Park.
