Background

This is a genuine leadership role, not an administrative one. A well-established, two-site GP practice in Hertfordshire is looking for an experienced Practice Manager to take the operational and strategic lead alongside the partnership. With an established Operations Manager and Reception Supervisor already in post, this role is built around leadership, governance and impact, rather than day-to-day firefighting.

Location

The practice is based in Hertfordshire, within easy reach of Bishop’s Stortford (around 20 minutes by car), Stevenage (around 25 minutes) and Welwyn Garden City (around 20 minutes). Fast rail links connect the area to central London in around 45 minutes, making it a practical base for candidates commuting from further afield.

The Practice

• GP Training Practice supporting GP Registrars and medical students
• Established Operations Manager and Reception Supervisor already in post, allowing the incoming Practice Manager to focus on leadership, governance and strategy rather than routine day-to-day operations
• Mid-sized, two-site practice serving a broad local population
• Large salaried GP team, working alongside a strong partnership team
• Rated Good by the CQC

Your Role

• Full leadership of practice operations, working across both of the practice’s sites
• A well-supported operational structure beneath the role, allowing you to focus on leadership, governance, HR and compliance rather than routine administration
• Lead the practice’s CQC readiness ahead of an upcoming inspection and help shape its long-term operational direction
• Occasional attendance at Patient Participation Group meetings, around four times a year
• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with core hours of approximately 9am to 5.30pm and flexibility where required

Salary and Benefits

• £50,000 to £60,000 per annum
