Onsite Locum GP

An excellent opportunity to join a friendly, forward-thinking practice in a small market town in Southwest Somerset.

Starting mid-November for an initial 2–3 months (with potential to extend), the practice is seeking a Locum GP for 5 sessions per week — Mondays and Tuesdays (full days) and Wednesday mornings.

You’ll support the team with a mix of duty days, triage, admin, labs, tasks, prescriptions, and occasional home visits.

This is a dynamic and innovative Primary Care organisation, offering the best of both worlds — modern systems and a close-knit, supportive team in a beautiful semi-rural setting.

Salary – £750-£850 per day

Location – South Somerset area

The surgery –

• Part of a dynamic Primary Care organisation
• Small, semi-rural practice
• Purpose-built building
• Dispensing practice with dispensary on-site
• Great clinical and admin support
• CQC Good
• C4300 patients
• EMIS

Your role –

• Locum GP – 5 sessions per week
• Mondays, Tuesdays and ½ day Wednesdays from mid-November
• 2-3 months initially with the potential to extend
• Duty sessions
• Triage via Accurx “Total Triage” model
• 15-minute appointments
• 22 patients per day in a standard clinic
• Supported by varied MDT of ECPs, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and HCAs
• Support from PCN Home visiting team
• You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and be registered with the GMC and UK Performers List.
