Job Summary

This is a rare opportunity to join one of Geelong’s most established and respected practices – a clinic that has built its reputation over 90 years and is widely regarded as the highest-billing GP practice in the city. Full-time earnings in the region of AUD $280,000 (approximately £148,000) are achievable from within a genuinely supportive team, backed by AI-assisted scribing, a fully staffed nursing team, and an active panel of over 10,000 patients ready from day one.

The Practice

• A predominantly private billing clinic – the highest-billing practice in Geelong – transitioning to a mixed model from July 2025 to stay competitive while preserving strong GP earnings.
• Over 90 years of operation, with 22 GPs on the roster and a new 22-room clinic building in development for a 2028 opening – long-term career security in a practice that isn’t going anywhere.
• AI scribing suite – Heidi, MBS Pro and Quibico – already embedded across all GPs, materially cutting documentation time per consult without extra effort.
• A nursing team of 7, including 3 dedicated preventative care nurses running recall programmes – immunisations, dressings and care plan admin sit firmly off the GP’s plate.
• A close-knit, social team with exceptional staff retention – recent departures came after 36 and 20 years respectively. The practice recruits rarely, and when it does, it hires for the long term.

• Car loan on arrival – the owner makes a vehicle available to new GPs, a practical lifeline for international recruits getting settled.
• Structured onboarding with a reduced patient load from day one – the ramp-up is actively managed, not left to the GP to figure out alone.

Location Overview

Newtown is Geelong’s most sought-after inner suburb, sitting on the Barwon River with independent cafes, boutique shops and award-winning restaurants directly outside the practice door on Pakington Street. Queens Park and Balyang Sanctuary offer riverside walking and cycling routes, while the Bellarine Peninsula – surf beaches, wineries and the start of the Great Ocean Road – is within 30 to 60 minutes. Skills and Requirements

• MRCGP or equivalent qualification
• AMC/RACGP registration or eligibility to register
• Interest in women’s health – particularly IUD insertion, contraception and menopause – preferred but not essential
• Commitment to high-quality patient care in a team-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills and genuine enthusiasm for working within an established, patient-centred practice
