Job Summary

This is a rare opportunity to join a practice built and run exactly like the one you left behind – founded by a UK-trained GP who made the same move himself. Billings run to CAD $2,000+ per day (approx £1,080+) as your panel grows, with the Rocky Mountains on your doorstep.

The Practice

• UK-style practice – built and structured like a UK clinic, right down to appointment lengths and workflow, so the systems will already feel familiar.
• Founded and led by a UK-trained GP who relocated to Canada 20 years ago and has coached other UK doctors through the same move.
• FFS billing with genuine flexibility to grow toward a Physician Compensation Model once your panel reaches 500+ patients.
• A collaborative team of six GPs sharing special interests in women’s health, migraine management, skin procedures and weight management.
• Panel-based model with walk-in flexibility during your transition, so you can build a longitudinal patient list at your own pace.
• AI dictation software built into daily workflow, cutting your paperwork so you can focus on patients.

Benefits

• Guaranteed patient waitlist from day one, with the practice actively referring existing patients to help you build your panel fast.
• Billings of CAD $1,500-$1,800 per day (approx £810-£970) as a new GP, rising to CAD $2,000+ per day (approx £1,080+) as your panel builds – before time modifiers for charting, referrals and lab review are added.
• A 70/30 fee split, competitive for the southwest Calgary market.
• Full LMIA and visa sponsorship, with the practice managing documentation and timelines throughout.
• Relocation support including furniture and household goods to help you settle in.
• Hands-on mentorship from the practice owner and wider team throughout your transition to Canadian practice.
• Choose your own hours within a full-time role, including your own lunch breaks and shift patterns.
• Professional indemnity and structured orientation to Alberta’s healthcare and billing systems, provided as part of your onboarding.
• A 2-year initial contract with flexibility to extend.

Location Overview

Based in southwest Calgary, just 15 minutes from downtown, the practice sits in a professional, family-friendly community with parks, cycling pathways and the shops of Aspen Landing on the doorstep, plus a choice of well-regarded public and private schools nearby. The Rocky Mountains – including Canmore – are only an hour’s drive away, giving you year-round access to skiing, hiking, mountain biking and championship golf. Calgary itself is Alberta’s largest city, with a metropolitan population of almost 1.8 million and a thriving economy built on energy, technology and healthcare. It’s a city that combines big-city amenities with an outdoor, family-focused way of life.

Skills and Requirements

• Qualified General Practitioner with MRCGP or equivalent qualification.
• Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
• Comfortable working within a collaborative, team-based practice.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to continuity of care.
