Job Summary
A family-owned, non-corporate practice in one of Perth’s fastest-growing residential corridors is seeking a GP to step into an established patient panel from day one – no cold start, no panel building. Full-time earnings of AUD $390,000-$520,000 (approximately £207,000-£276,000) are typical based on daily billing rates, with care plan and chronic disease income on top. Visa sponsorship is in place, and a small, familial team means genuine support rather than the churn of a large corporate clinic.
The Practice
- A family-owned mixed-billing practice founded by internationally trained doctors – small, non-corporate and deliberately low-stress, with monthly team meetings and a culture built on longevity rather than throughput.
- The incoming GP inherits the patient panel of a retiring principal – an established list of patients with full clinical histories, generating income from the first week without the anxiety of building from scratch.
- On-site pathology (Australian Clinical Labs), pharmacy next door and physiotherapy on site – a fully integrated care environment that supports higher-value MBS item numbers and removes the referral friction that slows other practices down.
- Extended service scope including skin cancer screening, minor surgery, PRP, cosmetic services and shared care obstetrics – GPs with procedural or aesthetic medicine interests can develop these as distinct income streams from day one.
- Midland Hospital is five minutes away – public and private specialist services within easy reach for complex patients, with a straightforward and well-worn referral pathway.
Benefits
- 70% fee split on all billings – GPs operate as independent contractors with full autonomy over their clinical approach and patient volume.
- AUD $3,000-$4,000 per day (approx. £1,590-£2,120) at standard mixed-billing rates, with care plan billings adding a further AUD $2,400-$4,800 per fortnight on top of standard consult income.
- Full-time equivalent earnings of AUD $390,000-$520,000+ (approx. £207,000-£276,000+), rising with chronic disease management and cosmetic service involvement.
- Visa sponsorship in place – the practice nominates overseas GPs directly and manages AHPRA registration and the supervision period in-house.
- Established panel from day one – no standing start; the retiring principal’s patients transfer to the incoming GP, providing immediate and sustained patient demand.
- Flexible scheduling – start and finish times, working days and appointment lengths are all negotiable to accommodate school drop-offs, family commitments or a phased arrival.
- No after-hours obligation – evenings and weekends covered by Dial-A-Doctor, a bulk-billed home visiting service; GPs finish at 4pm or 5pm and their time is their own.
- 12-month contract with annual review and renewal – designed to give stability without locking GPs into an open-ended commitment; the practice’s stated intention is long-term retention.
Location Overview
South Guildford sits 14km north-east of Perth CBD, bordered by the Swan River and at the gateway to the Swan Valley – Western Australia’s oldest wine region, with dozens of wineries, breweries and farm-gate restaurants within a five-minute drive of the practice. Neighbouring Guildford is one of only three National Trust-listed heritage towns in metropolitan Perth, with colonial-era pubs, antique shops and riverside walking trails along the Helena and Swan Rivers. Perth Airport is 10 to 15 minutes away, Perth CBD is 20 minutes, and Guildford Grammar School – one of WA’s most established independent schools, on an 80-hectare riverside campus – is immediately adjacent. A quiet, family-oriented suburb that happens to have wine country on its doorstep.
