It is an ideal first post for a newly qualified GP, with genuine support and a clear route into GP education.

Location

The practice serves a rural part of Bedfordshire with a mix of village communities, and the local population is growing rapidly. Bedford is around 15 minutes’ drive away, Milton Keynes around 20 minutes and Luton around 30 minutes, and the current team commutes from all three.

The Practice

• GP Training Practice with two Accredited Educational Trainers
• One of the most technologically advanced practices in the area, with an AI scribe for every clinician, AI triage, an AI care navigator and cloud telephony
• Documents at zero every day, supported by AI document processing and a 10-strong clinical admin team
• Mid-sized practice working across two sites, including a recently refurbished main site
• Strong partnership team and salaried GP team, alongside an ANP, paramedic and clinical pharmacists

Your Role

• 4 sessions per week, starting April 2027
• Newly qualified GPs warmly welcomed, with structured debriefs and a GP Partner always on site
• 25 x 10-minute appointments per day, with around 6 blood results and 3 to 4 letters
• Duty days finish at 6.30pm, with the Partners covering the 8 to 9am hour
• Home visits on duty days only, around one per week and counted within the day’s appointments
• No extended hours or enhanced access requirement
• Clear route to becoming an Educational Supervisor or Trainer

Salary and Benefits

• From £11,000 per session, with an annual pay uplift
• BMA model contract with CPD time built into the working day
• Professional fees covered, including medical defence indemnity
• NHS Pension
• 6 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays
• Tier 2 visa sponsorship available

You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK performers list.
