Salaried GP, Hemel Hempstead

Background

Clinics finish at 5pm, routine appointments are 15 minutes, and a dedicated triage GP manages demand so nothing is added to your list on the day. This is a rare chance to join a new cohort of salaried GPs at a practice under new leadership, rebuilding continuity of care and shaping how it runs. Confident newly qualified GPs are welcome.

Location

The practice is in a residential area of Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Fast M1, M25 and West Coast Main Line links make it an easy commute from Berkhamsted (around 15 minutes), St Albans (around 20 minutes), Watford (around 20 minutes) and north-west London (around 40 minutes).

The Practice

• Supported by experienced GP trainers who bring registrars on site, with plans to restore training status
• Mid-sized practice under new leadership, with Total Triage already in place
• Strong partnership team, with a named partner for every salaried GP
• Join a cohort of 3 to 4 new salaried GPs starting together
• Choose your own consulting room in a recently extended and refurbished building
• Nursing team, GP assistants, pharmacy technicians and full admin support

Your Role

• Flexibility to leave on time and catch up on admin remotely later
• Permanent post, 6 sessions per week
• Mornings 8.30am to around midday, afternoons 2pm to 5pm, with no late clinics and a coffee break every session
• 15-minute routine appointments with built-in follow-up slots
• Fixed templates and a triage GP rota where the duty GP sees no patients
• Your own registered group of patients for genuine continuity
• Very few home visits

Salary and Benefits

• £12,400 per session, the same rate whether newly qualified or experienced
• Pay reviewed annually in line with DDRB
• BMA model contract
• NHS Pension
• 6 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays
• 1 week of study leave

You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK performers list.
