Assura Community Fund
Community projects in Wrexham can apply for a share of more than half a million pounds of the Assura Community Fund. The funds will support health and wellbeing projects for people living within 15 mile radius of Assura’s 574 primary care buildings.
Grants will be for up to £5,000 and are aiming to improve mental and emotional health and wellbeing.

GP Trainee numbers on the rise
Figures released by Health Education England, show that GP trainee numbers have risen by 15% compared to last year. This increase means that the government is on track to meet their target for 3,500 new doctors this year.
The government also aims to deliver an extra 50 million appointments a year, and 6,000 more doctors in general practice.

Award winning GP Practice in York
Great news for The Old School Medical Practice, in York, which has won the “Green Impact for Health” award for reducing their carbon footprint.
The initiative was developed by the National Union of Students, and run by RCGP, it has been developed in order to help and encourage GP Practices to reduce plastic waste and increase recycling.
Well done to everyone involved!
Transformations within Primary Care
Since lockdown began, GP surgeries across the UK have had to completely change the way they worked, offering video and telephone consultations in place of face to face appointments. GPs in the Rochdale area have said that the changes have been “transformational” to Primary Care.
