    Salaried GP (Triage) | Hastings

    Background

This is a genuine decision-making triage role, not a booking service. You will lead on-the-day demand from a co-located triage hub, with an ACP, a GP Assistant and a triage admin team acting on your decisions in real time.

Behind it sits one of the most admin-light models we have seen, so your time goes on clinical decisions and very little else.

    Location

The practice is based in Hastings on the East Sussex coast, close to the seafront with shops and restaurants on the doorstep and free on-street parking nearby. Bexhill-on-Sea is around 15 minutes’ drive, Eastbourne around 40 minutes and Royal Tunbridge Wells around 50 minutes, with direct trains to London taking around 90 minutes.

    The Practice

    • GP training practice with three GP trainers, registrars from ST1 to ST3, FY2s and medical students
    • Large practice with a large, stable salaried GP team
    • GPs handle only their own blood results, with no document workflow, prescribing managed centrally by pharmacists and AI transcription for every GP
    • No GP home visits: a dedicated home visiting service and frailty team cover these
    • Wide MDT including ACPs, clinical pharmacists, physiotherapists, mental health practitioners and an in-house women’s health hub
    • CQC rated Good across all five domains

    Your Role

    • 4 to 8 sessions per week: a minimum of 4 triage sessions, with clinical sessions added around them if you want them
    • Triage sessions: you make the decisions while the hub team handles callbacks, referrals and bookings
    • Clinical sessions: 24 patients a day in 15-minute appointments, mostly face-to-face
    • Flexible working days; EMIS Web
    • Potential route to partnership for the right GP, with clear scope to become a GP trainer or develop a special interest
    • Best suited to GPs at least three years post-CCT who are confident managing demand decisively

    Salary and Benefits

    • £13,384 per session
    • NHS Pension
    • BMA model contract
    • 6 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)
    • Protected CPD time plus 5 days’ study leave (pro rata)
    • Professional fees covered, including indemnity and GMC fees
    • Visa sponsorship available

You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK performers list.
