Background

This is a chance to join a practice that has kept the human side of general practice at its heart. There is no online triage platform: patients see their own GP, and the practice credits that continuity for its growing list. With sessions available now and a genuine route to partnership, this is a role to build a long-term career around.

Location
The practice is based in a rural, coastal part of Somerset, with open countryside on the doorstep and the sea a short drive away. Taunton is around 40 minutes by car, with Bridgwater and Tiverton both around 50 minutes. Traffic on the route in is light, making for a predictable drive.

The Practice

• GP Training Practice, with GP and Foundation trainees on site
• Consistently a Top 100 rated practice nationally
• Traditional, relationship-based care, with GPs holding their own (much smaller than national average) personal lists
• A close-knit, caring team – colleagues step in when someone is struggling
• Coffee break every morning
• Small practice with a growing list and an older, rural patient population
• Strong partnership team and salaried GP team

Your Role

• 4 or more session with full-time available
• Just 10 patients per session – unrivalled workload
• Mostly face-to-face consultations, with some phone calls
• A protected admin session every month
• Shared duty rota, with duty afternoons largely kept free for admin and urgent work
• Home visits shared across the team, trainees included
• No evening/weekend clinic commitment for Salaried GPs
• Special interests welcomed, particularly GP Training
• Route to partnership after around 12 months, with the option to buy into practice-owned premises

Salary and Benefits

• Indemnity, GMC and RCGP fees all covered
• Visa sponsorship available
• 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)

You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK performers list.
