    Background

Join a Training Practice where several of today’s salaried GPs started out as trainees and chose to stay. Every patient request is reviewed by a GP before it reaches your list, a dedicated support team takes most letters and medication queries off your desk, and there are no evening or weekend commitments. You’ll have just 12 patients per session, with almost complete autonomy how you structure your clinics and manage your list.

This is proper medicine, delivered in a sustainable way.

    Location

The practice is based in Salisbury, a cathedral city in south Wiltshire with good schools, including two grammar schools, and direct trains to London Waterloo in around 90 minutes. The New Forest, Cranborne Chase and the south coast are all close by. Amesbury is around 20 minutes away by car, Andover and Romsey around 30 minutes, and Southampton around 40 minutes outside peak times.

    The Practice

    • GP Training Practice
    • Mid-sized practice with a strong partnership team and a large salaried GP team
    • GP-led triage, with every request sorted by a GP and key information, such as photos, gathered before you make contact
    • A medicines management team handles most reauthorisations and medication queries
    • A workflow team processes the majority of incoming letters, so very little reaches you needing action
    • Sociable team who meet for coffee every morning with a weekly practice clinical or education meeting
    • Rated Good by the CQC

    Your Role

    • 4 to 6 sessions per week, with Friday availability particularly welcome
    • No extended hours, evening or weekend work
    • 15-minute appointments with 12 patients per session, and you decide who needs a call and who needs to be seen in person
    • Your own named secretary to help with tasks and information gathering
    • A buddy system so your results are covered on the days you are not in
    • A fair share of the triage rota, balanced to your sessions
    • Minimal home visits with the Frailty Nurse Practitioner handling a busy visit workload
    • Newly qualified GPs very welcome, with support through your first sessions on running triage well

    Salary and Benefits

    • £12,358 per session
    • NHS Pension
    • 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
    • Indemnity covered

You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK performers list.
