Family Physician – Toronto, Ontario- 

Job Summary

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established midtown Toronto practice built on a genuinely low-volume model, where a UK-trained GP has already thrived for two years. Three separate income streams, including a private wellness scheme, sit alongside on-site physiotherapy, dietetics and laboratory support, giving you multidisciplinary family medicine without the volume pressure of a standard list.

The Practice

• Sixteen years established under the same ownership, giving genuine stability and settled, hands-on leadership.
• A UK-trained GP already on the team, in place for two years, so there is a proven track record of supporting British doctors through the move.
• Multidisciplinary from day one, with on-site physiotherapy, dietetics and laboratory services meaning you refer in-house, not out.
• Patients are already being turned away, reflecting an established and affluent patient base in one of Toronto’s most sought-after neighbourhoods.
• A supportive, cohesive team, with an admin team, practice manager and lab technicians on site to take the pressure off day to day.

Benefits

• Three separate income streams, combining fee-for-service billing, a private wellness subscription scheme (CAD $3,000 per patient per year, approximately £1,620) and annual fees for uninsured services.
• No overhead while you build your panel, with the clinic share rising in stages to a 70/30 split in your favour once established.
• No on-call and no weekends, with clinic hours running Monday to Thursday 10am to 4pm and Friday 10am to 1pm.
• Full autonomy over appointment length, with the model designed around quality of care rather than volume targets.
• Visa sponsorship confirmed, with LMIA already in place.
• Genuine relocation support, with practical help finding accommodation when you arrive.
• A straightforward 3-year contract, giving you a clear and stable start to your Canadian career.

Location Overview

North Toronto’s Mount Pleasant and Chaplin Estates area is one of the city’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, with tree-lined streets and a strong family feel, popular with young professionals and families alike. The Kay Gardner Beltline Trail, a former railway line, runs along the neighbourhood’s edge and is popular for walking and cycling, while Eglinton Park and the North Toronto Community Centre offer pools, ice rinks and tennis courts on the doorstep. Mount Pleasant Cemetery’s mature green space backs directly onto the neighbourhood, giving a genuine sense of space in the city. The Yonge-Eglinton Centre brings shopping, cinema and dining within walking distance, and downtown Toronto is just 15 to 20 minutes away by subway.

Skills and Requirements

• MRCGP or equivalent qualification.
• Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
• Full GMC registration and UK Performers List entry.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-based approach.
