General Practitioner / Family Physician – Scarborough ON

This is a rare opportunity to shape a brand-new GP service inside an established, multidisciplinary clinic in Scarborough, with a strong 75% fee split and the freedom to choose your own hours. Set beside North America’s largest indoor Asian shopping mall, this role offers walk-in patients from day one and a fast route to a full caseload.

The Practice

• Brand-new GP service operating within an established multidisciplinary physiotherapy clinic, with two dedicated consultation rooms ready to go from day one.
• A separate walk-in clinic next door provides an additional route for patient overflow, supporting a steady flow of new patients.
• High demand from day one, with GPs expected to see 4-6 patients per hour.
• In-house cross-referrals between the GP and the onsite physiotherapy team, supporting a genuinely multidisciplinary caseload.
• Predominantly Chinese-speaking patient base, around 80% of the host clinic’s existing patients, supported by an in-house Medical Assistant who also works as a Cantonese/Mandarin translator.

Location Overview

The clinic sits in north Scarborough near Steeles Avenue, close to Pacific Mall, North America’s largest indoor Asian shopping mall, and the Chinese-themed Splendid China Mall. Downtown Toronto is around 30 to 40 minutes away by car, or about 50 minutes by transit via the nearby Milliken GO Station. Families can spend a day at the Toronto Zoo or explore the trails and beaches of Rouge National Urban Park, both a short drive away. Local schooling includes R.H. King Academy, Scarborough’s top-ranked public high school, along with strong private options such as the Islamic Institute of Toronto. With around 73% of residents identifying as a visible minority, Scarborough offers a genuinely multicultural community with large Chinese and South Asian populations.

Skills and Requirements

• Must be qualified as a General Practitioner and eligible for registration with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and CPSO, or GMC/UK Performers List registered with a pathway via CPSO.
• MRCGP or equivalent qualification.
• Comfortable building a caseload through walk-in patients from day one.
• Cantonese or Mandarin language skills would be an asset, with translation support available.
