General Practitioner – Hoppers Crossing, Victoria

Job Summary

This is a rare opportunity to earn up to $600,000 AUD (approximately £320,000) a year at one of Melbourne’s busiest bulk-billed practices, seeing up to 600 patients a day. Based just 30 minutes from Melbourne CBD in Hoppers Crossing, the practice is expanding its 14-strong GP team and offers genuine variety, from skin checks to PRP therapy.

The Practice

• High-volume, bulk-billed practice seeing up to 600 patients on its busiest days – a genuinely established patient base from day one.
• Long-established in Hoppers Crossing for over 20 years, consistently ranked among the three busiest clinics in the area.
• Selected for national government health trials thanks to its large patient database.
• Growing team of 14 GPs, expanding to 20 by mid next year, with plenty of scope to build long-term working relationships.
• On-site allied health and diagnostics, including psychology, dietetics, physiotherapy, geriatric medicine, Holter monitoring, ECG, pharmacy, pathology and dental, all under one roof.

Benefits

• Earn up to $600,000 AUD (approximately £320,000) a year as an experienced GP, based on the current fee split.
• A 70/30 fee split in your favour.
• GPs who commit to full-time evening and weekend shifts for two years qualify for an additional 5% profit share, or an equivalent bonus, from year three.
• A guaranteed minimum of $150 AUD (approximately £80) an hour or 70% of billings, whichever is greater, for your first three months.
• Work as an independent contractor with clinical autonomy over your own patient list, within the practice’s policies.
• Appointment times reviewed to suit your pace, from the standard 10 minutes up to 15 or 20 minutes where needed.
• A relocation allowance of $14,000 to $15,000 AUD (approximately £7,500 to £8,000) towards your move from the UK.
• Visa sponsorship provided, with the flexibility to use your own visa agent if you prefer.
• Airport pickup and help finding accommodation on arrival, personally arranged by the practice owner.
• Flexible weekly rosters built around your preferences, combining morning, evening and weekend shifts.

Location Overview

Hoppers Crossing sits within the City of Wyndham, one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing municipalities, with Pacific Werribee’s shops, cinemas and dining close by. The Federation Trail offers walking and cycling right on the doorstep, and nearby Werribee Park is home to Werribee Mansion, the Open Range Zoo and Shadowfax Winery for family days out. Melbourne CBD is just 30 minutes away by train, giving you city access without city living. It is a genuinely multicultural, family-friendly community with strong transport links.

Skills and Requirements

You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK Performers List or registered with the AMC and RACGP.

• MRCGP or equivalent qualifications
• Level 3 GP status, requiring only remote supervision
• Willingness to commit to a mix of shifts, including evenings and weekends
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
