Family Physician – Downtown Toronto, Ontario

    Job Summary

This is a rare opportunity for a UK-trained GP to take full control of their own patient list, at a well-established walk-in practice in the heart of downtown Toronto, steps from the University of Toronto and Queen’s Park. With a 70% FFS split and no fixed roster, you set your own pace and your own list size.

    The Practice

    • Walk-in FFS clinic with no assigned patient roster, giving you complete control over your own list and pace.
    • Comfortable daily volume of 40 to 60 patients, set entirely by you rather than dictated by clinic targets.
    • Straightforward, largely uncomplicated presentations, with a young, built-in patient base drawn from the University of Toronto community.
    • Reception and an on-site pharmacy in the same building, so patients can fill prescriptions immediately after their appointment.
    • Scope to broaden your practice, from travel medicine and driver’s medicals to minor procedures and cosmetic Botox, alongside routine consultations.

    Benefits

    • A 70% FFS split from year two, rising from 65% in year one as you settle in.
    • A private insurance contract pays 25% more than standard provincial rates for a portion of patients, boosting your earning potential further.
    • Full LMIA visa sponsorship, including legal costs, fully supported by the clinic from start to finish.
    • A step-by-step licensing tracker to guide you through the Canadian registration process.
    • Relocation and housing support, including an introduction to a trusted local real estate agent experienced in placing incoming GPs.
    • Structured onboarding in Ontario billing systems to help you maximise your earnings from day one.
    • Full-time hours across a seven-day rota, giving you variety and flexibility in your working week.
    • A minimum contract term of two to three years, reflecting the visa sponsorship timeline.
    • An established practice, operating from the same Bay Street location since 2009.

    Location Overview

The practice sits in the Bay Street Corridor, within walking distance of the University of Toronto and Queen’s Park, a popular spot for walking and running right on the doorstep, as well as the upscale shopping and dining of Bloor-Yorkville. Downtown living puts you minutes from Toronto’s cultural institutions, waterfront and the city’s extensive underground PATH network, ideal for exploring the city comfortably all year round, whatever the weather. Toronto Pearson International Airport is roughly 25 to 30 minutes away, keeping the rest of Canada and home within easy reach for visits and holidays. It is an ideal base for a GP who wants city-centre energy, green space close by and a young, vibrant community around them.

    Skills and Requirements

    • Qualified as a General Practitioner, holding MRCGP or an equivalent qualification.
    • Eligible for registration with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume walk-in setting.
    • Prior emergency, urgent care or hospital experience is an advantage.
    • Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in a younger patient demographic.
