Job Summary

This is a rare opportunity to earn up to 83% of billings, among the highest fee splits in Canadian general practice, with full panel GPs typically earning C$400,000-500,000 (approximately £215,000-£270,000) a year. Join an eight-strong interdisciplinary team in Edmonton, Alberta, delivering genuinely meaningful care to First Nations and Metis communities.

The Practice

• Exceptional 83% fee split under FFS billing, among the highest available in Canadian general practice.
• Interdisciplinary team of eight on site, including five psychiatrists, a nurse practitioner, a consulting oncologist and a pharmacist, all available for shared assessments and referrals.
• Established for a decade, a mature and embedded practice rather than a standing start, with a built-in patient panel from day one.
• Contracted, not employed, with full control over your own days and hours, from 20 to 40 plus a week, and time off arranged directly between colleagues.
• Meaningful, complex needs work alongside First Nations and Metis communities, transitional housing residents and first responders, supported by an in-house referral network across psychiatry, pharmacy and nursing.

Benefits

• Full panel GPs earn C$400,000-500,000 (approximately £215,000-£270,000) FTE under FFS billing, roughly C$2,000-3,000 per working day.
• Quarterly retention bonus worth 10%, based on patients seen and referrals generated.
• Profit share of 10-30% of net profits from clinics you go on to manage, after the initial contract term.
• Own clinic pathway for physicians who build a strong panel, with the group’s ongoing support to set up independently.
• LMIA visa sponsorship handled in full by the clinic’s own legal team.
• Onboarding budget of around C$50,000 towards equipment, training and relocation costs.
• In house billing, HR and accountancy support provided at no extra cost, with a dedicated accountant checking every submission.
• Voice recognition reporting system in place to cut down on manual documentation time.
• Peer support from a UK-trained GP already on staff, happy to talk through the move from personal experience.

Location Overview

The practice sits in Belvedere, a friendly and established neighbourhood in north-east Edmonton, Alberta’s capital region and Canada’s fourth-largest city. Rundle Park’s river valley trails, golf course and picnic areas are right on the doorstep, and the O’Leary Fitness and Leisure Centre offers swimming and tennis close by. Belvedere LRT gives direct access into downtown Edmonton, and Calgary is under an hour away by air for a change of scene. It’s a genuinely mixed, family-friendly community, well suited to GPs looking to put down roots, with the wider North Saskatchewan River valley parkland network on hand for walking, cycling and outdoor family time year-round.

Skills and Requirements

• MRCGP or equivalent qualification.
• Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
• Comfortable and interested in working with medically and socially complex patients, including Indigenous communities and first responders.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-based approach.
