    Background

Fifteen-minute appointments, no triage duty and flexible start and finish times make this a six-session role built around a sustainable working day. You will join an experienced, settled GP team in a genuinely friendly practice where colleagues still lunch together, with clear routes into teaching, special interests and clinical leadership.

    Location

The practice is based in Didcot, a fast-growing South Oxfordshire town with excellent rail links from Didcot Parkway. Abingdon is around 15 minutes’ drive, Oxford around 25 minutes and Reading around 35 minutes, and travel season ticket loans make commuting by train a realistic option.

    The Practice

    • Mid-sized practice with a growing list, driven by new housing in the area
    • Experienced, settled GP team in a supportive, close-knit environment
    • Low home visiting, thanks to a young, mobile patient population and a dedicated visiting service
    • Strong multidisciplinary team including practice nurses, ANPs, a paramedic, physician associate, pharmacist, physiotherapist and mental health support
    • Docman workflow keeps letters reaching each GP to around five per day
    • Purpose-built health centre with free staff parking on site, using EMIS Web

    Your Role

    • 6 sessions per week, ideally Monday, Thursday and Friday
    • 15-minute appointments with 12 patients per session, mixing face-to-face and telephone consultations
    • No triage duty, so your day is focused on booked clinical work and your share of admin
    • Flexible start and finish times, with a 9.30am start possible
    • Newly qualified GPs welcome, suiting a confident GP who enjoys managing their own workload
    • Full financial and practical support to become an F2 supervisor or GP Trainer, plus support for SPIN fellowship applications
    • Progression route into a Clinical Lead role

    Salary and Benefits

    • £11,000–£12,000 per session, with newly qualified GPs at £11,000 per session
    • BMA Model Contract, including continuity of service
    • NHS Pension
    • Professional fees covered, with indemnity paid in full
    • 6 weeks’ annual leave (pro rata)
    • 1 week’s study leave (pro rata)
    • Electric vehicle car scheme, cycle to work scheme, travel season ticket loans and wellbeing benefits

You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK performers list.
