Job Summary

This is a rare opportunity to build a genuinely flexible practice in one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing suburbs, with full-time GPs earning between AUD $20,000 and $40,000 per fortnight (approximately £10,000-£20,000) before tax. You’ll set your own consultation length and shift pattern from day one, backed by an owner with a strong track record of supporting UK GPs.

The Practice

• Mixed billing clinic in purpose-built premises, established in 2021 in the heart of Cobblebank Village, giving you more consultation time than a bulk-billing-only practice.
• Choose your own consultation length, 10 or 15 minutes, seeing around 4 to 6 patients an hour on your own terms, not the clinic’s.
• Flexible shifts, pick mornings, evenings, and just one Saturday a month.
• Full clinical support team, with dedicated nursing and reception staff, plus on-site pathology, cardiology, endocrinology, physiotherapy, immunisation and a co-located dental practice for easy cross-referral.
• A growing, diverse patient base in one of Melbourne’s fastest-expanding suburbs, with doctors already booking out quickly.

Benefits

• Full-time GPs earning AUD $20,000-$40,000 per fortnight, approximately £10,000-£20,000, before tax.
• A guaranteed minimum of AUD $175 per hour, approximately £93, for your first three months, giving income certainty while you build your list.
• A straightforward 70/30 FFS split, the same rate for every doctor regardless of billing type.
• Onboarding support from a practice owner who has personally recruited and settled UK GPs before.
• Flexible scheduling, choose your consultation length and shift pattern from day one.
• Staged start dates available, useful if you’re relocating with a partner or family.
• Visa sponsorship and relocation allowance to be discussed at interview.
• Indemnity cover and CPD support included, to be confirmed at interview.
• Standard remote supervision for your first six months, as is usual for IMGs moving into Australian general practice.

Location Overview

Cobblebank sits in Melbourne’s booming western growth corridor, just 33km, around 45 minutes by car, from Melbourne CBD, with a direct rail link from Cobblebank Station to Southern Cross. The flat, 4.4km Toolern Creek Trail is on your doorstep for walking, running and cycling, while Hannah Watts Park and the new Cobblebank Stadium keep weekends busy for young families. A new Coles-anchored village centre sits beside the clinic with everyday shops and cafes on your doorstep, and the local community, with over a third of residents born overseas, is genuinely diverse and welcoming. With a population already growing fast and a new hospital due to open nearby in 2026, it’s a suburb built for young families putting down roots.

Skills and Requirements

• MRCGP or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the AMC and eligible for RACGP Fellowship (or working towards).
• At least two to three years’ post-qualification GP experience.
• Experience in a UK-style general practice setting preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach.
